Asset Champions Breakfast: Register

Project Cornerstone is proud to report the success of our Fifth Annual Asset Champions Breakfast! Nearly 900 attendees gathered on March 6 at the Fairmont Hotel San José to celebrate the asset-building movement and honor individuals and organizations making a difference in the lives of Santa Clara County youth. This year’s diverse award winners are listed at the end of this page. We invite you to watch the testimonial videos for each winner for an inspirational look at the many ways these individuals and organizations are working to promote the healthy development of Santa Clara County youth.

The program included an address by Rona Renner, RN, of the KISS 98.1 radio show “Childhood Matters” and a performance by the Kaiser Educational Theater Program. Masters of ceremony were Gunderson High School senior Misha Balangit and San José Police Chief Rob Davis.

Dave Thornton, who is retiring this year as the CEO of the YMCA of Santa Clara Valley, received Project Cornerstone’s first SPARK award in recognition of his efforts to build and sustain the asset-building movement in Santa Clara County.

The annual Asset Champions Breakfast is Project Cornerstone's largest event, held not only to raise awareness of asset-building and its champions but also to motivate and inspire the many groups and individuals who already provide positive, meaningful support to young people every day. We give special thanks to the many, many volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a success.
